History of the organization

1950
The history of our organization is inextricably linked with the activities of the Beekeepers’ Circle, which was established in Mińsk Mazowiecki during the Second Polish Republic. During the German occupation and after liberation, it had several hundred members. Since the 1950s, Aleksander Piwowarczyk was the president of the Circle. During his over 30 years of service to the beekeepers of Minsk, he organized numerous plantings of melliferous trees and shrubs, mainly lime trees and acacias. It is estimated that during his long presidency, approximately one thousand pieces were collected. Many of them can still be admired today.
1980

In the 1980s, it was divided into two groups: the District Beekeepers’ Club (RKP) with about 150 members and the Commune-Municipal Beekeepers’ Club with about 50 members. Stanisław Dudewicz became the president of the RKP, and Marian Ptasiński became the president of the Municipal-Municipal Circle. The RKP Management Board took care of the education of beekeepers by inviting specialists in the field of beekeeping (Jan Plewa, Krzysztof Loc, Prof. Andrzej Pidek) and organizing trips to Puławy and Olecko. Members of the District Beekeepers’ Association participated in large numbers in the Apimondia Congress in 1987. At that time, the boards of both Circles were also involved in the distribution of sugar and medicines against varroa.

1990

In February 1990, at the request of the Siedlce Regional Beekeepers’ Association, a joint meeting of the Management Boards of both circles was held, as a result of which the Municipal-Municipal Beekeepers’ Circle was merged into one, with Marian Ptasiński as its President. He worked devotedly for the Circle, but after a few years he resigned due to his old age. After his resignation, Franciszek Sądel was appointed President of the Circle. During his presidency, trips to bee breeding stations, highly specialized apiaries, beekeeper training centers and many other places related to beekeeping were organized.

1993

In August 1993 in the parish of St. Antoni in Mińsk Mazowiecki, the first Diocesan Agricultural and Beekeeping Harvest Festival took place, during which Fr. bishop Stanisław Kędziora consecrated the banner of our Circle. Due to his advanced age, President Sądel resigned from his position and in October 1999, Zdzisław Żółtek was elected President of the Association, who fulfilled his duties very conscientiously in increasingly difficult times for beekeeping. Due to health problems, he resigned from his position after more than three years.

2003

As a result of new elections in February 2003, Jerzy Anuszewski became President. From this year, our organization is called the Beekeepers’ Circle in Mińsk Mazowiecki. President Anuszewski was a good organizer and performed his function with dedication. Among other things, he submitted a request to change the affiliation of the Circle and proposed transferring it to one of the Warsaw unions. After a few years, he resigned from his position due to old age. For his dedicated work, he was given the title of Honorary President of the Circle. The next President for over a year was Fr. Leszek Bajurski, then parish priest in Kiczki, who made further preparations to change the affiliation of our Circle. However, it was only the next President, Marian Miąskiewicz, who completed this project.

2007

Until the end of 2007, the Circle was associated with the Regional Beekeepers’ Association in Siedlce. Pursuant to the adopted Resolution, from 2008 the Beekeepers’ Association in Mińsk Mazowiecki was a member of the Provincial Beekeepers’ Association in Warsaw.

2009

In March 2009, elections for a new Management Board were held, and Konrad Ładnowski became the President of the Association. He dreamed of spreading information about the beekeepers of Minsk more widely and therefore in November 2009 he launched the website of our Association.

2014

In the spring of 2014, the Association of Beekeepers of the Minsk Land was established, thanks to which our organization obtained legal personality and can operate completely independently

2015

One of such activities was the organization of the 1st Masovian Beekeeping Conference in Mińsk Mazowiecki on March 22, 2015, which has become a cyclical event. Our beekeepers organize talks in kindergartens and schools to popularize beekeeping. It is the duty of beekeepers to make people aware of how important these little creatures are to the environment and humanity, and they should not really be afraid of them. In order to expand the knowledge of our beekeepers, the Management Board tries to invite lecturers and organize training several times a year. Wherever possible, melliferous trees and shrubs are planted in order to improve the forage base.

Every year on December 7 on St. Ambrose Day, the patron saint of beekeepers, a delegation with the banner of our organization goes to Jasna Góra to thank the Blessed Virgin for the harvest and care of their apiaries.

For many years, Christmas wafer meetings preceded by a Thanksgiving Mass have been organized.
