Welcome to all bee lovers on the website of the Association of Beekeepers of the Minsk Land
On our website, we would like to introduce you to the topic of beekeeping and make you realize how important role these hard-working creatures play in our lives.
How was it with honey and bees………..
Man has been benefiting from the benefits of bees since time immemorial. He used to only steal honey from wild bees living in forest holes, but over time this began to change. People began to wonder how to obtain honey in larger quantities. That’s when beekeeping was born. The beekeepers themselves dug holes in the tree trunks, where the bees later lived. These were times when beekeepers enjoyed great respect. The honey they obtained went to the tables of kings and princes, and candles made from the obtained wax illuminated the lords’ chambers. To make their work easier, they tried to take the bees out of the forest and breed them closer to homes. Logs began to be made for this purpose. They were lying trunks, partially hollow inside. The progenitors of modern beekeeping began to look for easier and easier methods of management, and as a result, hives were created. At first they were very primitive and their management was not easy, but this time the saying that „necessity is the mother of invention” was confirmed. Over the years, the hives have been modified so much that they have become very easy to use, and working with bees brings people a lot of joy. Now we can freely enjoy the benefits of nature, eat honey, and use the healing properties of pollen, propolis and royal jelly. However, it should be remembered that honey bees have a significant impact on the global agricultural economy, as they pollinate 60-90% of insect-pollinated plants. Our task, the task of beekeepers, is to make all people aware of this and share with others this wonderful gift of nature which are bee products.
